After presenting at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) rock star, television and movie personality Anand Bhatt signed five guitars to be donated for the children’s charity, Autism Speaks.  Bhatt, who is well known for both his musical and acting talents, signed the guitars alongside other celebrities including Adam Gaynor of Matchbox 20 and actor Eric Roberts of The Dark Night, The Expendables, and more, to support the charity.

This is not the first or only charity that Bhatt supports- he is also involved with other charities including the Simply Smiles Charity and the David Lynch Foundation. For more information about Anand Bhatt please visit http://sonicwaveintl.com/anand/.

Autism Speaks was founded in 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright to help fund the research, cause, prevention, treatment, and cure for Autism. Currently autism affects about one in every hundred American children, and the cause is still unknown. “I was thrilled to support a cause that supports an issue that so many parents and children deal with, and excited to be a part of an event surrounded by so much musical talent,” said Bhatt.  The HMMAs, which were held in Hollywood on Thursday, November 17th, recognized over 50 talented individuals responsible for creating, producing, and placing music in visual media. After lending his signature to several guitars, Bhatt was welcomed up on stage to present the awards for “Best Jazz Song,” “Best Latin Song,” “Best Metal Song,” and more. Distinguished honorees included Smokey Robinson, who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.

ANAND BHATT JOINS DAVID LYNCH AND RUSSELL BRAND IN EFFORTS TO AID U.S. VETERANS

Music Star Anand Bhatt to Support the Healing Powers of Meditation for Veterans Mentally
Injured from War

Anand Bhatt will join filmmaker David Lynch and actor Russell Brand for Operation Warrior Wellness, an outreach program that will help over 10,000 veterans overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder through Transcendental Meditation.

Bhatt will travel to Fairfield, IA this week to film a profile for the Davis Lynch Foundation’s
online TV broadcast. He will discuss on camera the positive impact meditation has had on his
life and how it played an important role in his music career.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a very serious, yet overwhelmingly common outcome
of war; in fact, 11-20% of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan war suffer from the conditioned
disease, according to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. The condition develops when an
individual suffers a severe trauma or catastrophe and it causes depression, anxiety, and mood
swings in the victim. Due to the horrific nature of war, veterans are the largest group suffering
from PTSD.

“It saddens me to hear about the many fearless soldiers that return from war with PTSD,” Bhatt
says. “Meditation is a powerful tool and I strongly believe in its healing properties. I am honored
to be able to do what I can to help these heroes recover from this horrible condition.”

Although the impact of this condition is overwhelming, research by Operation Warrior
Wellness and the David Lynch foundation found that veterans who practiced meditation showed
significant reductions in depression, anxiety, and family problems after only four months verses
veterans receiving psychotherapy alone.

In addition to his support of the David Lynch Foundation and Operation Warrior Wellness,
Anand will continue to support the Simply Smiles Charity to help abolish poverty in Latin
America (http://www.simplysmiles.org/anand-bhatt).
