Bhatt will travel to Fairfield, IA this week to film a profile for the Davis Lynch Foundation’s
online TV broadcast. He will discuss on camera the positive impact meditation has had on his
life and how it played an important role in his music career.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a very serious, yet overwhelmingly common outcome
of war; in fact, 11-20% of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan war suffer from the conditioned
disease, according to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. The condition develops when an
individual suffers a severe trauma or catastrophe and it causes depression, anxiety, and mood
swings in the victim. Due to the horrific nature of war, veterans are the largest group suffering
from PTSD.

“It saddens me to hear about the many fearless soldiers that return from war with PTSD,” Bhatt
says. “Meditation is a powerful tool and I strongly believe in its healing properties. I am honored
to be able to do what I can to help these heroes recover from this horrible condition.”

Although the impact of this condition is overwhelming, research by Operation Warrior
Wellness and the David Lynch foundation found that veterans who practiced meditation showed
significant reductions in depression, anxiety, and family problems after only four months verses
veterans receiving psychotherapy alone.

In addition to his support of the David Lynch Foundation and Operation Warrior Wellness,
Anand will continue to support the Simply Smiles Charity to help abolish poverty in Latin
America (http://www.simplysmiles.org/anand-bhatt).
